Tips To Start Import And Export Business In The Philippines

Import and export business is not only for established businessmen but it is also a good choice for amateur entrepreneurs who want to venture in the business world.

However, businessmen new in the business should learn how to start the business so that there would not be much money loss and effort.

Here are some tips for you to consider if you are really serious in this kind of industry.

1. Once you are ready with your business plan and set to start it, register your business at the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) if you want to register your business

under one name.

2. Register it too in the local area where your would-be business is addressed. This is to get rid of problems in the future. Sometimes, Philippine government offices do not mind if your business is registered or not but it is likely that the “no business permit” would create problems later if it becomes successful.

3. Coordinate with local entrepreneurs for your

market. It is always a good idea to have a ready target because import export business means bulk. For easier and faster disposal of products, you need to have ready customers.

4. For custom issues, you need to do a lot of research for the best freight forwarders or the logistic companies. Try not to be satisfied with one company but be more patient to research more. Do background check about the company on their record if they are reputable. You need to remember that one failure of an import export business lies in the freight forwarding services.

Some entrepreneurs suggest that you should befriend freight forwarders as they become your business partner. There is nothing wrong with this but you have to be careful to work with logistic companies who are trusted and do the transaction legally.
